Hello, friends! Unfortunately, nothing new for the blog this week. 🥺 But I’ll give you a little something by way of a few Netflix recommendations, if only to assuage my guilt for not having legit content for you.

As those who have school-age children in their lives know, this past week was February break, which was at once both lovely (because we really do miss them during a normal week with their busy school and after-school schedules) and exhausting (because, well, having three children home all week is friggin’ exhausting).

As a result, I had very little time to write. And I have too much pride to post unedited garbage. I hope I made the right decision to make you wait another week. Please try and forgive me, and do check back in next Tuesday for new content.

What I will give you is a peek at our recent watchlist. Netflix and Chill, baby. You’re welcome!!

Molly and PM’s recent Netflix Binges

So we just finished the Netflix Japanese romantic drama series Fishbowl Wives (English dubbed/subtitles), which basically looks at societal expectations for marriage and gender roles through the stories of several couples and infidelity. Neither PM nor I knew very much about Japanese culture, so much about this series was curious (what’s up with the feng shui woman that wanders around the building and encourages the wives to cheat?) and, at times, amusing (who would have thought that there could be an entire store dedicated to only selling goldfish?).

Granted, we weren’t 100% sober when we watched it, but I honestly don’t think it would have made that much difference. Maybe we would have leaned more toward confused rather than amused… *shrug* But if you’re looking for something new to watch that’s a little different, check it out (especially if you’re a wee bit stoned when you watch 😆).

If you’re looking for something lighter in content than Fishbowl Wives and its infidelity theme, we also recently watched the French rom-com series The Hook-up Plan on Netflix (English subtitles). It was cute and funny, and I‘d definitely recommend it.

Hmmm… what else?

Another foreign series (what can I say? — they are way more interesting than what’s being cranked out here in the States) that we liked was an Italian Netflix romantic drama series Devotion, a Story of Love and Desire (with English subtitles). It’s the story of a husband’s growing obsession (I guess…maybe?) with a student and his wife’s obsession with a possible infidelity. I found it a little irksome because I couldn’t understand, for the life of me, the draw of the female student, apart from her age (I mean, the wife seemed pretty awesome to me — that opening scene in the empty apartment…🔥), but I really liked the ending, so stick with it and I think you’ll be pleased.

So there you have it. Our Netflix recently watched list. And that’s all I’ve got up my sleeves this week. I pinky promise that next Tuesday I will not disappoint.

And if you watch any of these series, please do drop a comment and let me know what you thought of them. None of our friends have watched any of these (apparently we‘re the only ones in our friends group watching these types of foreign series — go figure!), and I’m dying to hear other folks’ impressions (especially for Fishbowl Wives!).

Until next time, stay kinky 😉

Has anyone watched 365 Days and/or its sequel 365 Days: This Day? If yes, thoughts? We just rewatched the first movie before moving onto the next. And I have to say, I don’t know how I feel about it. I mean the sex scenes are incredibly hot, but the whole falling in love with a violent psychopath who stalks you then kidnaps you to hold you captive for a year, all so you’ll love them, which you do in two short months…Stockholm Syndrome much? I mean, I love me an Alpha male, and I’ll admit I can even find myself getting into an obsession-stalker type concept. But in 365 Days, it’s off the rails. To each their own, but I can’t…
